Healing – What’s in it For Me?
Pathway of Transformation
I always say that the process of healing is one of transformation, both of your inner world and your outer world. The modality of healing can be, perhaps over simply, placed into two practices of using the healing energy available for us all to utilise. One is Universal Energy: accessing the energy that sustains and creates within our universe. The second being Spiritual Healing: connecting to our team of Spirit Guides and utilising that connection for healing energies to be channelled. Both modalities use the intent to be used for the highest and the best for those involved. Whatever healing method you choose, it should take you along a pathway where you will challenge your established thinking, at times you may find it hard or even wish that you never started! However, as you navigate your path and find your way through, you will always end up somewhere and someone different to how you started.
Complimentary Complementary Medicine
Any illness, whether it be physical or psychological should take you on a journey of self exploration, reflection and discovery, thus changing your life. Often times people find their way to a healer because nothing else has yielded a positive lasting result, therefore, is their last ditch attempt to put things ‘right’. No guarantees should be given but the great thing about energy and spiritual healing is there are no reasons not to treat someone. It is truly a complimentary complementary medicine to modern medicine.
An Alchemic Process
However, as any good healer knows, it is not our place to diagnose or to give a prognosis. We should only offer our opinion if asked. A good healer holds the space, gives you room to process and express what you need to at that time, or not. A healer worth their salt supports but never tells you what to do or feel, what is right or wrong for you. That’s the magical part of healing –having a space where you can explore your feelings, be in the moment and allow a connection to happen with your body, your mind and your spirit. This alchemic process will help to reveal the answers and truth held within yourself.
More Than The Physical
Modern science tells us that the human organism is not just physical: not just bones, tissue, vessels and cells. It tells us we are energy too. Each living thing has and holds an energy of it’s own; from us humans, the animals, the flora and fauna, the oceans and all the life contained within them, to the planet we live on up and including those we share the universe with. Even the universe itself, of which we are the most miniscule of dots, has it’s own pulsating energy.
Give it Up to the Universe!
A healer will tap into, connect with or access (whichever word they feel best describes how they do it!) that universal or spirit energy. They become a conduit for that energy to be used in a healing session with another. Not so long ago it was often referred to as the ‘laying on of hands’ and that can be true of the majority of healing work that is conducted; the placement of the practitioners hands upon the client. This doesn’t mean the healing energy is better but it give the client reassurance as to where the healer is. To give someone one less thing to think about is always good! That being said, thanks to the wonders of technology myself and other healers are able to give healing via Zoom or other video services and it works well! There are no borders to receiving a healing session, all that is required is a willing heart and open mind. Unlike in the religious context of the ‘laying on of hands" there is no praying for cures or miracles; of course one always remains open for either to happen! In my healing work, I connect with the universal energy, request the presence of my healing guide/s and ask for the healing energy to be used for the highest and best purpose for my client. The outcome of the healing treatment is beyond me. That is up to the client, their spirit and the universe; remember the healer is the conduit for which the energies to work through only.
A Holistic Approach
We are more than our physical ailments and standard of health. We are the sum total of our life experiences, our thoughts patterns, our emotions and our physical health. Often times our physical health suffers when we ignore the spiritual, mental and emotional needs of ourselves for far too long. In today’s world of instant needs and demands, materialism and the work life balance being out of whack, there is a rising demand in searching for another way to be. Our modern world has developed and technology progressed so fast that our human natural responses are unable to discern what the real threat is on our over stretched nervous system. That email your boss sent you in the last hour of your working day for a presentation first thing tomorrow, or a message you receive from a disgruntled customer last thing, will engage your body’s fight or flight response, pumping adrenaline through your body. We have yet to evolve to realise these emails and messages are not sabre tooth tigers searching for their dinner! So then, the adrenaline has no where to go and the build up has a collective affect on our health. The standard of food that we consistently put in our bodies, the more sedentary lifestyle many of us lead (office work, long commutes) put a pressure on our physical body’s and mental wellbeing. I could go on here about how the demands of modern day living has really removed us from our natural state of being. Less and less of us are able to maintain a holistic approach to our lives.
Body, Mind and Spirit
Healing embodies the holistic approach by working on every aspect of our well-being; the spiritual, the mental, the emotional and physical bodies. More often than not a healing session will serve any combination of those. It can provide energy and motivation to tackle what needs to be done or it can give a sense of peace and calm at times when one feels frazzled and torn. Healing is most excellent at providing what you need at that time of receiving. Healing, given by a well trained practitioner can be a valuable and life changing tool in your quest for well being and transformation. Try it and find out first hand what is in it for you!
